Nagpur — Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar has accused the Maharashtra government of being involved in a massive stamp duty scam in Pune.

Speaking to reporters, Wadettiwar claimed that an IT company purchased land worth ₹300 crore but paid only ₹500 in stamp duty. He further alleged that the company received an additional ₹21 crore discount from the government.

Wadettiwar blamed the Industries Department for approving the deal without proper verification or paperwork. He said that around 50 similar land deals have taken place in Pune and demanded a full investigation.

“If all such transactions are checked,” Wadettiwar said, “a ₹1 lakh crore scam could be exposed.” He urged the Chief Minister to take immediate action and ensure transparency in land registrations.

The allegations have created a fresh controversy in state politics, putting pressure on the administration to respond.
