Mumbai: Maharashtra government held a cabinet meeting today. CM Devendra Fadnavis led meeting. In this meeting, the government made five important decisions.
Main decisions
1. Finance Commission deadline extended
The time to put the 5th Maharashtra Finance Commission report into action has been extended. Now it will be used from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.
2. Support to cooperative banks
The government will give 827 crore to the district cooperative banks of Nashik, Nagpur, and Dharashiv.
3. Better security for courts
Security at court buildings and judges’ homes will be increased. More security guards will be provided by the Maharashtra State Security Corporation.
4. Digras water project
The government approved 90.61 crore for the Digras water storage project in Hingoli.
5. Sukli water project
Another 124.36 crore has been approved for the Sukli water storage project in Sengaon, also in Hingoli district.
Meeting on temple development
CM also reviewed plans to improve three major temples Bhimashankar, Aundha Nagnath, and Grishneshwar. He asked officials to finish ongoing work quickly and to make good facilities and strong security for all devotees.
