Maharashtra Gears Up for ‘Viksit Bharat’ with Ambitious Vision
New Delhi: In a historic milestone, India has surpassed Japan to become the world’s fourth largest economy, with its GDP reaching the $4 trillion mark. This achievement was highlighted during a recent NITI Aayog meeting in Delhi, where CEO B.V.R. Subrahmanyam attributed the success to robust policies and effective implementation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
Maharashtra Aligns with ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ Vision
Prime Minister Modi has urged all states to prepare long-term vision documents to achieve the ‘Viksit Bharat 2047’ goal. Responding proactively, Maharashtra, under Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, has unveiled its ‘Maharashtra 2047’ vision. The state has already achieved over 700 targets in the past 100 days through citizen-centric governance and is now working on a 150-day action plan. Maharashtra has set short-term goals for 2029 and 2035, with a long-term ambition to transform its economy into a $1 trillion powerhouse by 2030.
Economic Leap Driven by People and Leadership
NITI Aayog CEO Subrahmanyam emphasized that India’s youthful population, coordinated Centre-state efforts, and NITI Aayog’s guidance will propel the country to become the world’s third largest economy within the next two to three years, trailing only the US, China, and Germany. “This is not just a statistical milestone but a testament to strong policies, decisive leadership, and effective execution,” he said.
The credit for this achievement, he added, goes to the hard work of ordinary citizens, the contributions of the industry, and the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. India is now on a path toward inclusive, sustainable, and comprehensive development.
Maharashtra’s Pivotal Role
Maharashtra has aligned itself with the Centre’s national agenda, positioning itself as a frontrunner in India’s growth story. The ‘Maharashtra 2047’ vision emphasizes good governance, accountability, and citizen-focused initiatives. With its proactive approach, Maharashtra is poised to play a central role in India’s journey toward becoming a developed nation by 2047.
