Mumbai: On September 15, Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat took oath as the new Governor of Maharashtra. He got this post after CP Radhakrishnan left the position to become the Vice-President of India.
Oath ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. It was conducted by Bombay High Court Chief Justice Shree Chandrashekhar. Acharya Devvrat took his oath in Sanskrit. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy CM Eknath Shinde, ministers, officers, and police officials attended the program.
President Droupadi Murmu had given Devvrat the charge of Maharashtra Governor along with his current duty as Gujarat Governor.

He reached Mumbai with his wife Darshana Devi by Tejas Express from Ahmedabad. At Mumbai Central, he was welcomed by Fadnavis and Shinde. He also received a Guard of Honour from the Railway Police and Mumbai Police.
