Sports World in Shock as Afghan 3 Cricketers Die in Air Raid
New Delhi –
In a tragic turn of events, three young Afghan cricketers — Kabir, Sibghatullah, and Haroon — were killed in a Pakistani airstrike in Afghanistan’s Paktika province, leaving the global cricket community in mourning.
The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) condemned the attack, calling it a “cruel and senseless act”, and announced the team’s withdrawal from next month’s tri-nation series in Pakistan featuring Sri Lanka.
Afghan captain Rashid Khan expressed his outrage, calling the strike “heartless and wrong.”
“National pride comes first. I stand with my people,” he said in a statement.
Diplomatic sources confirmed that talks are underway in Doha to reduce rising tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan, following the incident that has drawn widespread international concern.
