Mumbai: The controversial Pune Jain Boarding Trust land deal with builder Vishal Gokhale has been officially cancelled. Gokhale reportedly emailed the trust stating that he wishes to end the agreement and recover his money.
The issue had sparked a political storm in Pune, with Shiv Sena (Shinde faction) leader Ravindra Dhangekar making several allegations against Union Minister Murlidhar Mohol. Mohol, however, strongly denied all accusations.
According to sources, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has advised Dhangekar to refrain from commenting further on the matter for a few days.
Amit Shah Arrives in Mumbai
Union Home Minister Amit Shah arrived in Mumbai late last night and was received by Murlidhar Mohol along with senior BJP leaders.
Shah is scheduled to attend an event at Mazgaon Dock today, where he will hand over modern fishing boats to fishermen — part of the central government’s initiative to promote self-reliance and strengthen cooperatives in the fishing sector.
The visit comes at a politically sensitive time, with the Pune land deal issue drawing statewide attention.
