Nagpur: BJP leader and minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has criticised the Congress, saying the party is weakening because its own leaders are not united. He said many Congress workers are shifting to the BJP, and added that recent remarks by Congress leader Yashomati Thakur were made out of frustration.
Bawankule said people trust Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to drive development, and claimed the Mahayuti alliance may secure around 51% votes in the upcoming elections. Where alliance partners are not contesting together, the BJP will fight alone but will try to avoid internal disputes, he said.
The minister also mentioned that the government is considering providing land or support to organisations working for cancer patients, stressing that strong institutions can help more people and that healthcare remains a priority.
Responding to discussions around a possible Congress–MNS understanding, Bawankule said Congress earlier avoided MNS because it feared losing support in states like Bihar. Now, with talks of an Uddhav Thackeray–Raj Thackeray alliance gaining attention, Congress is making statements to suit its political needs, he claimed.
He added that BJP leaders and star campaigners will visit multiple cities as part of the election campaign.
