Gujrat: Just before Diwali, all Gujarat ministers except CM Bhupendra Patel have resigned. Surprise move came after an important meeting at CM’s house. All ministers gave their signed resignation letters to CM which will now be sent to Governor Acharya.
A new cabinet will take oath tomorrow, Oct 17, in presence of Amit Shah and BJP chief J.P. Nadda. Amit Shah will reach Gujarat tonight, and Nadda will arrive in morning.
New faces like Arjun Modhwadia, Alpesh Thakor, Hardik Patel, and C.J. Chavda are likely to become ministers. The reshuffle is part of BJP’s plan for the 2027 elections.
Experts say change comes after BJP’s loss in Visavadar bypoll and growing public anger against govt. Some old leaders may also return to key posts.
