Mumbai: Maratha reservation protest led by Manoj Jarange Patil at Azad Maidan has reached an important point. Maharashtra govt has agreed to most of the demands, while asking for some more time on a few difficult ones.
Demands Accepted:
Hyderabad Gazette – Kunbi certificates will be given based on family, village, and relation records.
Satara and Aundh Gazette – To be studied, and a decision will come within one month.
Cases on Protesters – All police cases will be withdrawn by September end.
Help for Families of Martyrs – ₹15 crore will be given every week, and jobs in the State Transport Corporation will be provided.
Village Records – District officers will hold meetings every Monday to clear pending certificate applications.
Demands Still Pending:
Kunbi–Maratha Same Community – Govt asked for two months’ time because the process is complicated.
