Mumbai: Maharashtra govt has announced a huge relief package of ₹31,628 crore for farmers affected by recent floods in Marathwada. CM Devendra Fadnavis, DCM Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar made the announcement today.
Support for Farmers:
Crops:
- Orchard crops: 32,500 per hectare
- Seasonal orchard crops: 27,000 per hectare
- Rabi crops: 10,000 per hectare
Farmers without insurance: 17,000 per hectare
Dryland farmers: 35,000 per hectare
Flood-Damaged Fields: 47,000 per hectare in cash
Employment Support: 3 lakh per hectare through MNREGA projects
Animals: Up to 37,000 for milch animals
Water Sources: 30,000 for blocked or silted wells
Poultry: 100 per chicken for affected farmers
Houses: Aid for damaged homes, with extra 10,000 for hilly areas
Shops and Cattle Sheds: 50,000 support
Education: Exam fees will be waived for affected students
CM Fadnavis said this is biggest relief package for farmers in Maharashtra so far. Farmers will get help immediately, even if Rabi crops are not yet planted.
He also added that central govt is helping with insurance claims and proper support.Govt is focused on giving money quickly, and any changes or additions will be decided in December assembly.
