Mumbai — A political storm has erupted after Shiv Sena (Thackeray group) leader Ambadas Danve alleged that Parth Pawar, son of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, was involved in a questionable land deal at an extremely low price.
According to Danve, Parth’s company purchased land worth ₹1,800 crore for just ₹300 crore and allegedly paid only ₹500 as stamp duty. He further claimed that the deal was approved within days, despite the company’s total capital being just ₹1 lakh.
Reacting to the allegations, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said he has sought a detailed report from the Revenue Department and Land Records Office.
“I’ve ordered an inquiry into the case. The initial reports appear serious, but I’ll comment only after receiving the full information,” Fadnavis stated.
He emphasized that the government will not tolerate corruption or misuse of power. “If any irregularities are found, strict action will be taken,” he added.
Parth Pawar’s Response:
When approached by reporters, Parth Pawar denied any wrongdoing but declined to share additional details, saying, “Everything has been done legally.”
The issue has triggered a fresh political row in Maharashtra, with the opposition demanding transparency and accountability in high-value government-linked transactions.
