New Delhi: Three Indian Army soldiers lost their lives after an avalanche hit the Siachen base camp in Ladakh. Rescue teams are working quickly to find and help others.
Siachen Glacier is close to the Line of Control (LoC) and is nearly 20,000 feet high. It is one of the coldest and toughest places in world for soldiers. The temperature here often falls to minus 60 degrees Celsius.
Army men posted in this area face many dangers. Along with enemy threats, they have to fight natural risks like avalanches, frostbite, breathing problems due to thin air, and extreme cold.
