Mumbai — Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra, beloved worldwide as the “He-Man of Indian Cinema,” passed away at the age of 89. He died at his Mumbai residence, where he had been under medical supervision after being discharged from Breach Candy Hospital a few weeks ago.
Dharmendra had been battling serious health issues, including breathing difficulties, and was being closely monitored by doctors. Despite continuous care, his condition deteriorated in his final days.
His last rites were performed privately at the family crematorium in Vile Parle. His eldest son, actor Sunny Deol, offered the funeral fire (mukhagni). The family has not yet issued a formal public statement, but the news of Dharmendra’s passing has sent shockwaves through the film industry and among fans across the country.
Over a remarkable career spanning nearly six decades, Dharmendra acted in more than 300 films and earned immense love for his versatility, charm, and iconic performances.
