New Delhi: Golden urn decorated with diamonds and other gems, worth about ₹1 crore, was stolen from Red Fort grounds . Theft happened while a Jain religious event was going on. Devotees were busy in prayers when incident took place.
Urn was made of 760 grams of gold and had 150 grams of diamonds, rubies, and emeralds on it. It was kept in park near Gate No. 15 of Red Fort. Police confirmed that theft happened in park area, not inside main fort.
Police started investigation immediately. CCTV footage has caught suspect, and his identity has been found. Police said accused will be arrested soon. A case has been filed under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
