New Delhi: A tragic incident shocked the capital on Monday when a man allegedly shot himself at Jantar Mantar, one of Delhi’s most well-known public places.

According to eyewitnesses, a sudden gunshot was heard, creating panic among visitors. People immediately informed the police, who reached the spot within minutes and rushed the injured man to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Police said the man had no ID card or documents with him, and his identity is still unknown. A pistol was recovered from the scene, which has been seized for forensic testing.

Authorities are now scanning CCTV footage from the area and questioning witnesses to find out what exactly happened. The reason behind the apparent suicide remains unclear.

The body has been sent for post-mortem examination, and police have urged the public to contact them if they have any information about the deceased. The investigation is ongoing.
