New Delhi: Indian Railways has changed the ticket booking rules. The new rule will start from Oct 1, 2025.
For first 15 minutes after booking starts, only people with Aadhaar-linked IRCTC accounts can book tickets.
Example: If booking for Jan Shatabdi Express starts at 12:20 AM, then from 12:20 to 12:35 AM only Aadhaar-linked accounts can book.
People without Aadhaar-linked accounts cannot book in this time.
Agents cannot book tickets in the first 10 minutes after booking starts.
To stop fake bookings.
To help real passengers get tickets easily.
To make booking fair and clear.
Important for passengers:
Link your IRCTC account with Aadhaar, otherwise you cannot book tickets in the first 15 minutes.
Daily booking time is 12:20 AM to 11:45 PM.
Rule is only for the first 15 minutes after booking opens.
Benefits :
Real passengers will get more chances.
Fake bookings will be less.
Booking system will be more fair.
