Mumbai — The spirit of devotion filled the air today as people across India celebrated Kartik Purnima and Guru Nanak Jayanti with joy and reverence. From early morning, devotees thronged gurudwaras and river ghats to offer prayers and take holy dips.
In Haridwar, Garhmukteshwar, and Hajipur, thousands took a sacred dip in the Ganga River, turning the ghats into scenes of light, chants, and devotion. With massive crowds, several roads leading to these pilgrimage spots witnessed heavy traffic congestion.
At Garhmukteshwar, lakhs of devotees arrived from Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh for the annual Kartik Fair. The local administration made special arrangements, including extra ghats, medical camps, and heightened security, ensuring a safe and smooth experience for all.
Meanwhile, Guru Nanak Jayanti was marked with equal enthusiasm. Devotees visited Delhi’s Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib and other gurudwaras nationwide to light candles and offer prayers. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and his wife paid their respects at the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
In Ayodhya, thousands gathered at the Saryu Ghat for a holy dip and participated in evening aarti ceremonies.
The twin festivals brought together millions in celebration, symbolizing unity, peace, and devotion across the nation.
