Kolhapur: The draft voter list for the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation election has been released, showing a total of 4,94,711 voters across 20 wards. The list is based on the Assembly voter records updated till July 2025. Compared to the 2015 election, the voter count has increased by around 41,000, with Ward No. 20 having the highest number of voters.
Significantly, women voters outnumber men in Kolhapur.

This means women voters are nearly 5,000 more than men. In 15 out of 20 wards, women form the majority. Out of 81 seats in the corporation, 41 seats are reserved for women, indicating that women voters and candidates could strongly influence the election results.
Over 32,000 Duplicate Voters Detected
The draft list has also identified 32,250 duplicate names across the 20 wards. In some cases, names have appeared two to four times. Such names have been marked with a star (*) for verification.
Citizens can file objections, and after corrections, the final voter list will be submitted to the State Election Commission.
