Maharashtra Announces 3-Day Dry Day for Local Elections

Nagpur: Maharashtra government has decided to keep alcohol shops closed from December 1 to December 3. This rule is for the areas where local elections are happening.

On all three days:

Dec 1 – day before voting

Dec 2 – voting day

Dec 3 – counting day

All liquor shops, bars, wine shops, beer shops, and restaurants that serve alcohol will stay closed.

Voting on December 2

Elections for Nagar Parishads and Nagar Panchayats will take place on December 2. Counting of votes will be on December 3.

Dry Day will be in all election areas across many districts like: Palghar, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Thane, Pune, Nashik, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara, Solapur, Ahmednagar, Dhule, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Beed, Latur, Nanded, Parbhani, Nagpur, Chandrapur, Yavatmal, Amravati, Wardha and others.

Government wants voting and counting to happen peacefully without any trouble.
