Mumbai : Maharashtra govt has introduced a new rule in the Ladki Bahin Yojana, under which women receive 1500 monthly financial aid. From now, to get the benefit, the husband or father of the woman must also complete e-KYC.

Officials say this step will help govt remove fake beneficiaries and reduce the rising financial burden of the scheme.

If the woman is married, her husband’s income will be verified.

If she is unmarried, her father’s income will be checked.

Women will be disqualified if the total family income is above 2.5 lakh per year.

Earlier, only woman’s own income was considered. Now, family’s income will also decide eligibility.
