Mumbai: Maharashtra govt said that people from the Maratha community can get Kunbi caste certificates using Hyderabad Gazette. But Prakash Ambedkar, leader of Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, has strongly opposed this decision. He said govt has cheated Maratha community.

Ambedkar said order is not correct. Supreme Court has already made it clear that not all Marathas can be called Kunbi. Kunbi is not a caste but a type of work. So, he believes the govt’s order is illegal and will not stand in court. He also said that Maratha community is happy for now, but this happiness will not last long.

He further claimed that govt has misled Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil committee and Justice Sandeep Shinde committee. According to him, even Manoj Jarange Patil and his followers, who ended their protest after the announcement, have been fooled.

Now, after Ambedkar’s remarks, everyone is watching to see what Jarange Patil and the Maratha community will do next.
