Marathwada: Heavy rain has hit many parts of Maharashtra, including Marathwada, Jalgaon, Ahilyanagar, and Solapur. In Marathwada alone, 75 areas got very heavy rain, and five people lost their lives. Beed and Dharashiv districts are badly affected. Rescue teams with helicopters and boats are shifting people to safe places. The weather office said rain will continue all week and may become stronger after Friday. Crops have been badly damaged, causing big losses to farmers.
NCP leader Rohit Pawar posted on social media, asking govt to help farmers quickly. He said, “Farmers from all communities are in trouble. Politics should be kept aside. Govt should declare ‘wet drought’, give ₹50,000 per hectare as help, and announce loan waivers. Farmers need much more support than the usual rules allow.”

In Dharashiv, heavy rain caused the Manjara river to flood. Water entered farms, destroying crops. Drone videos showed fields filled with water. Officials are checking damages and have asked people living near the river to stay alert.
In Beed, many homes and farms went underwater. NDRF teams rescued people. At Majalgaon dam, 11 gates were opened, releasing huge amounts of water into the Sindphana river. Villages nearby have been warned, and the highway bridge may also go under water.
A state minister said, “I can’t imagine pain of people watching their homes get washed away. I will discuss this in the cabinet meeting and ensure help reaches everyone.”
