Mumbai: Mumbai will soon vote for BMC elections. All big parties have started preparing. Shiv Sena (Thackeray group) is holding meetings. Talks for alliances are also going on.
Who will be the next Mayor of Mumbai has become a big question. Recently Sanjay Raut from Shiv Sena said the Mayor will be from their party. Now MNS leader Sandeep Deshpande has said, “The Mayor of Mumbai will be Marathi and from MNS.”
Posters at a Shiv Sena event read “Mumbai Mayor will be from Shiv Sena.” Reacting to this, Deshpande repeated his claim about MNS.
Former Mayor Kishori Pednekar from the Thackeray group said both MNS and Shiv Sena will fight together, and such claims help motivate workers.
BJP and the ruling Mahayuti alliance are also ready. CM Devendra Fadnavis said their flag will fly over the BMC. Sanjay Raut replied that the Mayor will be Marathi and from Shiv Sena.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah has asked BJP leaders to secure the Mayor’s post. Eknath Shinde also wants a Shiv Sena Mayor.
This means fight for Mumbai’s Mayor will be tough Mahayuti vs Thackeray Sena +MNS — and even within the ruling alliance there is competition. Everyone is watching to see who will win Mumbai.
