Nagpur: A sad and shocking incident happened in Nagpur. Priyanshu Kshatriya, also known as Babu Chhetri, who acted in the Hindi film Jhund directed by Nagraj Manjule, was murdered. He had worked with Amitabh Bachchan in the movie and played the funny character Babu Chhetri, which many people remembered.
Police said murder took place in the Jaripatka area of Nagpur. Priyanshu was killed by his friend Dhruv Sahu after the two had a fight while drinking alcohol on Tuesday night. Dhruv attacked Priyanshu with a sharp weapon. He was quickly taken to Mayo Hospital, but doctors said he was already dead. Police have arrested Dhruv Sahu.
When police reached spot, Priyanshu’s body was found half-naked and wrapped in plastic. People nearby said they heard him shouting and called police.
Priyanshu once shared how he got role in Jhund. He said, “I grew up near the railway tracks in Nagpur. We used to collect coal from trains and sell it. One day, I saw Nagraj Manjule with a camera. I thought he was a policeman and told everyone to run. Later, I came to know he was shooting a film, and that’s how I got selected for the movie.”
