A crucial review meeting was held at the District Collector’s office today to oversee Nagpur city’s development projects, flood-affected area repairs, and disaster management preparations for the monsoon season. Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule issued key instructions to Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) officials during the meeting.
Present at the meeting were MP Shyamkumar Barve, MLAs Krishna Khopde, Praveen Pratibha Prabhakarrao Datke, Charansing Thakur, and Abhijit Wanjari, former MLA Sudhakar Kohale, ex-NMC Standing Committee Chairman Narendra Borkar, NMC Chief Engineer Manoj Talewar, and executive engineers from all zones.
Heavy rainfall in recent days caused waterlogging and damage in several parts of Nagpur. The focus was on urgent repairs to roads, drains, water supply, and power systems in flood-hit areas. The District Collector directed NMC officials to complete these repairs swiftly and ensure emergency management systems are ready to tackle monsoon-related challenges.
To address waterlogging, the NMC was instructed to prepare an action plan for drain cleaning, water drainage, and flood management. Executive engineers from all zones were directed to work in coordination to ensure citizen safety and uninterrupted basic services.
