Nagpur: All courts in Nagpur district will take part in a Lok Adalat on 13 December. This programme is being organised under the instructions of the National Legal Services Authority and the Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority.

Courts from District and Sessions Court to taluka-level courts, as well as the Labour Court, Industrial Court, Family Court, Consumer Forum and other tribunals will participate. The entire process will be supervised by Principal District and Sessions Judge Dinesh P. Surana

Main goal of Lok Adalat is to help people settle their pending or pre-litigation cases in a friendly and fast manner.

No Fees, Final Decision

Cases related to civil disputes, compoundable criminal matters, motor accident claims, land acquisition issues, revenue matters, marital settlements and bank recovery will be taken up.

There will be no court fees for filing cases in this Lok Adalat.

Special panels of judges, senior lawyers and social workers will guide both sides towards a settlement.

Award passed in Lok Adalat will be final, will have the value of a court decree, and cannot be appealed.

Courts have requested interested parties to apply if they want their cases to be included.
