Madhya Pradesh: In a tragic incident, Rohini Kalam, a 35-year-old national Jujutsu medalist and former Asian Games representative for India, was found dead at her home in Arjun Nagar, Radhaganj.

Her younger sister Roshni discovered her hanging inside her room and immediately rushed her to the hospital, but doctors declared her brought dead. At the time, Rohini’s mother was on a religious trip with another daughter, while her father was away for work.

Rohini worked as a martial arts coach at a private school in Ashta and had returned to her family home in Dewas just a day earlier. Family members said she appeared normal that morning — she had tea and breakfast and later spoke to someone over the phone before locking herself in her room.

Police confirmed that no suicide note was found, and the reason for her death remains unclear. A detailed investigation has been launched.

Rohini began her sports career in 2007 and started playing Jujutsu professionally in 2015. She won a bronze medal at an international event in Abu Dhabi last year and also served as the General Secretary of the Jujutsu Federation of India.

The sports community across India has expressed shock and grief, remembering her as a passionate athlete who inspired many young martial artists.
