Mumbai: Maratha reservation activist Manoj Jarange Patil has once again come under the scanner. Mumbai Police have sent him a notice asking him to appear for questioning on 10 November at 11 AM. The notice was issued by Azad Nagar Police, and it also includes the name of Virendra Pawar.

This inquiry is connected to a case registered earlier this year during the Maratha quota agitation. Police officials say the investigation is still active, and they now need more information from Jarange Patil and others linked to the case.

According to sources, the police have found some new details while going through the complaint filed under the updated Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. Because of these findings, they want Jarange Patil and his supporters to be present for further questioning.

Apart from Jarange Patil, names of Pandurang Tarak, Gangadhar Kalkute, Chandrakant Bhosale, Virendra Pawar and Prashant Sawant are also connected with this case.

Jarange Patil has been leading Maratha quota protests for the past several months. Last year, his appeal for reservation had led to a chain hunger strike at Azad Maidan, where protestors demanded that the cases registered against activists be withdrawn.Government had promised to review these cases, but police investigation has continued.

With this new notice, Jarange Patil is expected to return to Mumbai on 10 November, and his appearance may once again heat up political atmosphere in Maharashtra.
