New Delhi: Rakesh Kishor, lawyer who tried to throw a shoe at Chief Justice of India B.R. Gavai, has made another bold comment. Even after being forgiven by CJI Gavai, he has shown no regret.
Talking to media, Kishor said, “God made me do it. I don’t regret anything and I won’t say sorry to anyone.”
Earlier, his petition about rebuilding a Vishnu idol in Khajuraho was rejected by Supreme Court. CJI Gavai had said that matter came under the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). He also told Kishor, “If you are a devotee of Lord Vishnu, then pray to him and ask him to act.”
This reply upset Kishor. He said court doesn’t take Sanatan Dharma cases seriously but gives big decisions for other religions.
After shoe incident, police took him into custody. A note found with him said, “My message is for all Sanatan followers. India will not tolerate any insult to Sanatan Dharma.”
Later, Bar Council of India canceled Kishor’s lawyer license.
Even during incident, CJI Gavai remained calm and said, “Don’t get disturbed by such acts. I am not upset,” and continued hearing as usual.
