Parli: The decades-old Pramod Mahajan murder case has resurfaced after his brother, Prakash Mahajan, made shocking revelations about the motive behind the killing.
In a recent interview, Prakash claimed that Pravin Mahajan, who shot his elder brother Pramod in 2006, did so out of greed, jealousy, and frustration.
“Pravin kept asking for money again and again. He neither had a job nor any steady income. He wanted to live off my brother’s success. His greed and ego destroyed everything,” Prakash said.
He further hinted that a third person was involved in the blackmailing plot but refused to reveal their identity, stating that the person is still alive.
Prakash also said that late Gopinath Munde had testified against Pravin in court during the murder trial.
“That testimony created a lasting bitterness. The same old grudges are now being used to attack Pankaja Munde and Dhananjay Munde, who are being defamed over old land disputes,” he claimed.
The revelation has once again rekindled controversy within the Mahajan family and sent ripples through Maharashtra’s political circles. Observers say Prakash’s claims could reopen debates around family feuds, political rivalries, and personal betrayal that shaped one of Indian politics’ most tragic incidents.
