Pune : The three-day International Agri Hackathon 2025, India’s first-of-its-kind event, concluded with a grand award ceremony in Pune today. The event was graced by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar, and Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. The winners were felicitated and extended best wishes for their future endeavors.

Pune, Maharashtra’s educational and cultural hub, has emerged as a pioneer in agricultural innovation. Addressing the gathering, CM Fadnavis said, “Pune has always been at the forefront of agricultural progress. Four hundred years ago, Rajmata Jijau and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj sowed the seeds of an agricultural revolution in this land. Today, artificial intelligence (AI) is ushering in a new era of scientific and cost-effective farming.”

The hackathon saw enthusiastic participation from farmers and agri-entrepreneurs across Maharashtra and India. Lauding the innovative ideas presented, Fadnavis added, “We aim to provide more platforms to such experimental youth in the future.”

Highlighting agriculture’s critical role in India’s economy, Fadnavis noted that the sector played a pivotal role in sustaining the nation during the COVID-19 crisis. Union Minister Chouhan emphasized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to farmers’ welfare, stating that such initiatives would foster new ideas and leadership. “From the land of Shivaji, Shahu, Phule, and Ambedkar, agriculture will find a new direction,” Fadnavis concluded, expressing confidence in Maharashtra’s role in shaping the future of Indian agriculture.
