Pune: At a time when many people chase money through the wrong means, a woman from Pune has set a shining example of honesty. Anju Mane, a waste collector working in Sadashiv Peth for nearly 20 years, found a large bag while collecting garbage around 7 AM. She initially thought it contained medicines, but on opening it, she was shocked to see ₹10 lakh in cash.
Instead of keeping the money, Anju decided to trace the rightful owner. She asked shopkeepers and local residents about the lost bag. After some time, she noticed a man searching anxiously in the area. She offered him water to calm him, and after checking the medicines and documents found inside the bag, it was confirmed that he was indeed the owner.
In the presence of local residents, Anju returned the bag containing the full amount of ₹10 lakh, winning appreciation from everyone for her honesty.
