New Delhi: Team India has finally written history by winning the Women’s ODI World Cup for first time. In final match, India set a target of 299 runs for South Africa. South African team could score only 246 runs, giving India a well deserved victory.
This is India’s first ever ODI World Cup title. Earlier, India had reached the finals in 2005 and 2017, but both times had to face defeat. However, this time, the team made a strong comeback and claimed the trophy in their third attempt.
Shafali Verma played a key role in the final match with her brilliant performance in both batting and bowling. Her all-round contribution helped India lift World Cup and made the nation proud.
