Ayodhya — Prime Minister Narendra Modi and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat attended a special ceremony at the Ram Temple for the sacred Ram Dhwaj hoisting. The saffron flag was raised by PM Modi, marking another historic milestone in the completion of the Ram Mandir construction. Tight security was maintained across Ayodhya, and only selected invitees were permitted inside the premises.

Addressing the gathering, Mohan Bhagwat said the day held deep emotional and spiritual significance for everyone associated with the decades-long Ram Mandir movement. “Many people sacrificed their lives for this cause. Their souls must feel at peace today. Ashokji too must have found peace,” he said. The flag-hoisting was the central ritual conducted inside the sanctum area.

Earlier, PM Modi said the Ram Dhwaj symbolises India’s cultural pride and the fulfilment of a centuries-old wait. He noted that millions of devotees worldwide experienced devotion, joy and peace after seeing the flag atop the temple.

Calling the flag a representation of truth, duty and the ideals of Lord Ram, the Prime Minister added, “It reflects the strength of our civilisation and reminds us that truth always triumphs.”

The presence of PM Modi and Mohan Bhagwat, along with the raising of the sacred flag, made the day historic for Ayodhya and Ram devotees across the globe.
