Pune: Dr. Jayant Vishnu Narlikar, eminent astrophysicist and science communicator, passed away in Pune today, leaving a profound void in the realms of Indian science and literature.

Dr. Narlikar, celebrated for co-developing the ‘Conformal Gravity Theory’ with Sir Fred Hoyle, made groundbreaking contributions to astrophysics over a career spanning more than four decades. His tireless efforts to demystify astronomy for the common man, leveraging various media platforms, earned him widespread admiration.

His debut book, Yakshanchi Denagi, received a Maharashtra government award, and his extensive body of work, including numerous books and articles, inspired generations of science enthusiasts.
