Sangli — Wrestler and newly joined Shiv Sena leader Chandrahar Patil is set to host one of Maharashtra’s biggest bullock cart racing events near Tasgaon on November 9. The event, which also marks the first meeting of the Bullock Cart Racing Association, is drawing attention for its grand scale and spectacular prizes.
The winners of the race will take home 2 Fortuner cars, 2 Thars, 7 tractors, and 150 bikes, making it one of the most lavish rural sporting events in the state. Thousands of farmers and bullock cart owners from across Maharashtra are expected to participate.
In addition to the main bullock cart race, the event will also feature dog races and special entertainment shows for the audience.
Speaking about the event, Chandrahar Patil said the goal is to support farmers, celebrate rural traditions, and encourage cultural sports that reflect Maharashtra’s heritage.
Locals are calling it the biggest bullock cart race ever held in the state, both for the scale of participation and the extraordinary prizes on offer.
