New Delhi: Priyanka Mohite from Satara has reached top of Mount Manaslu, world’s eighth-highest mountain at 8,163 metres. She climbed the peak with guide Aang Dawa Sherpa on September 22, the first day of Navratri. The climb took 16 hours of nonstop effort.
Priyanka has earlier climbed other very high peaks like Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu and Annapurna. Her father Mangesh Mohite said the family is proud of her and that she has continued to achieve more even after marriage because of strong family support.
She is now preparing to climb Dhaulagiri, Cho Oyu and Shishapangma in the coming years. Her mentor Sanjay Amrutkar said her achievements inspire young people across India to follow their dreams.
