Pune: In Beed district, NCP (Sharad Pawar group) leader Ram Khade was seriously attacked night by a group of 10–15 men using sharp weapons. The incident created tension in the area. Khade’s wife Tulsa Khade said she spoke to him in the evening and later came to know that he had been attacked.
Tulsa Khade directly blamed MLA Suresh Dhas for the attack. She claimed that her husband had been raising issues about corruption in temple trust lands and had filed several complaints. She said that even after going to the police and other departments, no strong action was taken.
Well-known Pune lawyer Adv. Asim Sarode also made a serious claim, saying that he too faces a threat to his life. Sarode said he got information from people close to Khade that supporters of MLA Dhas might target him as well. He added that Khade had told him about a large financial scam involving temple lands worth nearly ₹1,000 crore.
Sarode said that an FIR was filed only after approaching the High Court, but no arrests have been made so far. He also said that Khade’s security was removed even though earlier attacks had happened. Sarode demanded that people who speak up against corruption, like Ram Khade, should get proper protection.
