Nashik : District administration has sealed administrative office of the famous Shani Shingnapur temple. District Collector personally carried out action under police protection.
Sealing of office has created a stir in temple premises and among the members of the temple trust. After the temple trust was dissolved, reports emerged of manipulation and removal of important documents.
Former trust management was facing several allegations of corruption. Soon after taking charge, the District Collector took swift action to seal the office to prevent the destruction of any evidence related to the temple’s finances and administration.
Interestingly, executive officer of the temple was absent when office was sealed. The action was taken in the presence of police security, social workers, and local villagers.
With this move, the entire administration of the Shani Shingnapur temple will now remain under control of the govt.
