Mumbai:  Shiv Sena (UBT) has opposed the India–Pakistan cricket match in Asia Cup 2025. The party said it will protest on the streets. Earlier, it also asked govt to stop live telecast of the match in India. The match is on Sept 14 in Dubai.

Party MP Sanjay Raut said, “We will protest against this match. Women will join under our ‘Sindoor Raksha Abhiyan’. Govt once said water and blood cannot flow together so how can blood and cricket go together? This is shameful and against the nation.”

He also spoke about the Pahalgam terror attack where 26 women lost their husbands. “Those women are still in pain, but India is going to play cricket with Pakistan in Abu Dhabi. This is wrong and insulting. I ask BJP, RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal—do you have nothing to say about this?”

Earlier, MP Priyanka Chaturvedi wrote to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, asking to ban the live telecast of India–Pakistan matches in India.

In her letter she said, “I write with deep pain, not only as an MP but also as a citizen. After the Pahalgam terror attack, the govt started Operation Sindoor to make Pakistan answer for terrorism. We went abroad with a message of zero tolerance for terrorism. But now playing cricket with Pakistan goes against that message. I cannot accept this.”
