Mumbai: Bollywood actress and author Twinkle Khanna has stirred up social media after sharing her candid opinion on cheating in relationships.
Appearing on the talk show “Too Much” alongside Kajol, Janhvi Kapoor, and Karan Johar, Twinkle joined a lively discussion on whether physical cheating or emotional cheating hurts more.
During the conversation, Twinkle said, “Raat gayi, baat gayi” — meaning “what’s done is done.” The remark quickly went viral, with many viewers calling her statement too casual toward infidelity. Critics argued that “cheating ends a relationship,” while others appreciated her mature, realistic perspective.
On the show, Janhvi Kapoor mentioned that physical cheating can destroy trust, whereas Twinkle, Kajol, and Karan Johar agreed that emotional cheating cuts deeper. Twinkle further explained that perspectives on love and betrayal change with age and experience.
Soon after, both Twinkle and her husband Akshay Kumar began trending on social media. Some fans called her remarks insensitive to marriage, while others said her comment reflected emotional maturity and acceptance.
Twinkle married Akshay in 2001. Before their marriage, Akshay was linked with Raveena Tandon and Shilpa Shetty. Twinkle has previously shared that she wasn’t serious about their relationship at the beginning.
