Mumbai: Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has strongly criticized the state government, accusing it of making laws that “hurt democracy” and suppress people’s voices.

In an article published in Shiv Vidhi Darpan, Thackeray said that the current situation in Maharashtra is dangerous for democratic values, as the ruling leaders are not allowing freedom of speech and are using legal power to curb citizens’ rights.

Meanwhile, opposition parties including the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) have alleged vote theft and mismanagement by the government.

The opposition has also announced a massive protest march in Mumbai on November 1, demanding action against errors in the voter list and calling for transparency in the upcoming elections.

With protests, accusations, and political heat rising, the political battle in Maharashtra seems to be entering a new and tense phase.
