Mumbai: Lok Sabha Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi has again accused BJP and Election Commission of stealing votes. He said that in the Karnataka election, many voters’ names were removed on purpose. Rahul Gandhi even showed some video clips as proof during his press meet. His words have caused a big debate in politics.
Eknath Shinde’s Reply
Deputy CM Eknath Shinde strongly answered Rahul Gandhi. He said, “If Rahul Gandhi has real proof, he should give it to the Election Commission. If they don’t listen, he should go to court. Just blaming others without proof only confuses people.” Shinde also said Rahul Gandhi talks about vote theft only when Congress loses, not when it wins.
Shinde also spoke about Karnataka’s Aland seat, where Congress candidate Bhosaraj Patil won. He asked, “If votes were stolen, then who did it – Congress or BJP?”
On issue of EVM machines, Shinde reminded that this system was started when the Congress-led UPA was in power, and Manmohan Singh was the Prime Minister. He asked, “So is Rahul Gandhi saying his own party started a wrong system?”
Election Commission has already rejected Rahul Gandhi’s charges. Now, everyone is watching what Congress will do next.
