Zubeen Garg death case: Assam Police officer, Cousin arrested

Guwahati: Assam Police DSP Sandipan Garg, cousin of singer Zubeen Garg, was arrested on Wednesday over the singer’s death in Singapore last month.

He is fifth person held in case after organiser Shyamkanu Mahanta, manager Siddharth Sharma, and two band members.

CID officer Munna Prasad Gupta said Sandipan was with Zubeen during the alleged drowning and had been questioned several times.

Police have taken him to court and are seeking custody. Other four accused remain in police custody.

Zubeen Garg died on September 19 while swimming in Singapore during the North East India Festival.
