India Morning News
Nagpur: From first day of October, some new rules have started in India. These changes touch daily life gas cylinder prices, plane tickets, railway booking, UPI payments and bank holidays.
1. Gas Cylinder Price Up
19 kg commercial LPG cylinder is costlier now:
Delhi: 1,595
Mumbai: 1,547
Kolkata: 1,700
Chennai: 1,754
Home 14 kg cylinders stay the same price.
Hotels and restaurants will pay more, so customers may also pay more later.
2. Air Tickets May Go Up
Plane fuel price (ATF) has gone higher.
Delhi: from 90,713 per kilolitre to ₹93,766 per kilolitre.
Other big cities also see price hikes.
This means airlines may raise ticket prices, especially for festival travel.
3. New Train Ticket Rule
Indian Railways has changed online booking:
Only passengers with Aadhaar verification can book tickets in the first 15 minutes after booking opens.
This rule is now for Tatkal tickets on the IRCTC website and app.
Tickets bought at railway counters are not affected.
4. Change in UPI Payments
From October 1, the “collect money” (P2P) feature is removed from UPI apps.
This step will help make payments safer and stop fraud.
Users can still send or receive money using other UPI options.
5. More Bank Holidays in October
Banks will be closed for about 21 days in October because of Gandhi Jayanti, Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali, Bhai Dooj, Chhath Puja and regular second & fourth Saturdays and Sundays.
Holiday dates change from state to state, so always check before going to the bank.
